I like Pearl Jam and wanted to feature them in the exhibit. However, since Jimi Hendrix was also from Washington, I had to find another way to do it. When I discovered Pearl Jam’’s bass player, Jeff Ament, was from Montana, I knew he was the artist to feature for that state.

I used 28 license plates to create this license plate guitar. I used license plates to recreate the band’s logo, stick man, and featured it in the center hole. The Montana tags are so colorful just like Pearl Jam’s sound. The Michigan tag is the R in Pearl, which is written down the neck.
