I want my 50 Greats from 50 States to feature past and present artists. And nobody represents Pennsylvania better today than Questlove, the drummer for the Roots. I used 36 vintage Pennsylvania license plates to create Questtlove’s signature look including his hair style, and glasses, which I added to a Les Paul style shape. The guitar shape was chosen to represent the guitar of Roots guitarist Captain Kirk Douglas. No detail was forgotten, as I incorporated his instantly recognizable afro picks and the heart pin he’s often seen wearing on his lapel.
The Hs in Hip and Hop are Michigan tags.
