Shawn Colvin is one of the few musicians from the great state of South Dakota with a hit song. I used 21 license plates on this tribute to her Grammy-winning song, When Sunny Came Home. I’ve learned a lot of musical history on this journey, including the fact that her song tells the story about a woman who comes home to burn down her house. I created the match scene in a license plate mosaic.
